I have one holiday tradition that I’ve kept for probably the last ten years or more. I watch one Christmas movie on Dec 24th in the evening while eating snacks and playing Rummy with my husband. We try to watch a new one (since my hubby doesn’t care to rewatch movies.) Not sure what we’re going to watch this year, I might pick an old favourite–A Christmas Carol.
I’ve seen almost every adaptation of it. My favourites are the George C. Scott and the Patrick Stewart ones. The first is a classic and the second–I’ve always felt Patrick Stweart brought this amazing realness to Scrooge. The scene where he laughs for the first time is a bit of brilliant acting.
On the other hand, I’m not really a fond of the cartoon versions or the muppet one. *shrugs* It doesn’t do anything for me. I will say, the more recent one with Jim Carrey was spectacular.
