Blogger Interview: Tangled Hearts

1. What trope do you wish authors would run far, far away from?

I have to admit I had to look this one up. I have a degree in English but I’ve been out of the loop for a long time. There aren’t many ways that authors write that truly make me cringe but I’d have to say vampires. They have never been my favorites in any sense and I’ve never found them remotely attractive. That said, I will read a book with one if just to broaden my reading scope. But not too many!

2. The one book you’ll re-read over and over and over:

There are a few. Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander, any of Jennifer Bernard’s Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel series, Vivian Arend’s Six Pack Ranch series, and anything by Lorelei James. I credit these authors with getting me to start writing my own stories.

3.  If you could rewrite one book to change one part of it, which book would you choose and what would you change?

I’d love to fix some of the issues with 50 Shades of Grey. I love what the book did for romance novels in general but it has so many issues with it’s writing style and the storyline. Christian and Ana’s story is compelling but not solidly written. It’s why I’ve never reviewed the book.

4. Do you have a favorite place to read?

I do most of my reading in my comfy bed but I have a recliner in front of my computer since I have a bad back. I’ll read anywhere there’s light and a chair.

5. Tell us a little bit about why you started book blogging:

I’ve been writing my own novels for a couple of years now. During a severe bout of writer’s block last summer, I knew I had to do something, so I started a blog. It wasn’t too hard and got me writing so I kept up with it, attending online promotion parties and picking up ARC copies of books to read. After I discovered Netgqalley, I was hooked. Now I have two partners who work with me, Tina J. and Hoosier Girl, and I’m affiliated with two other pages. I’ve expanded my work to include some graphics work and I now review for an online magazine, BTS EMag. I’ve met some wonderful people who have become fast friends. And I cured my writer’s block!

6. What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

Not a thing, but a person. I don’t know what I’d do without my beloved husband, whom I call Coach. He’s my light and support and I wouldn’t be here without his love. Number 2 is my computer!

7. And finally a quick round of pick one:

Coffee or Tea:

Coffee in the morning, tea later

Sweet or Salty:

Sweet

Chocolate or Vanilla:

Chocolate! But I’m diabetic so those days are few now.

Hot or Cold:

Depends. I hate hot weather so of course I live in Missouri! But I have arthritis so the cold is an issue too. I’d choose comfort over all.

Laptop or PC:

I mostly use a powerful Dell PC since I like to game in my downtime. But I have a trusty laptop for when that’s not feasible. And I use and iPad for portable reading.

Paperback or Ebook:

Ebook almost exclusively for the economics of them. Although I miss the smell of a good paperback.

Interview with Paranormal Bookshelf

BookBloggerInterviews

1. What trope do you wish authors would run far, far away from?

Really wish they would stay away from the same story line just different characters or the books that are just written for screen plays/movies…eeekkk

2. The one book you’ll re-read over and over and over:

The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice or The Vampire Academy books

3.  If you could rewrite one book to change one part of it, which book would you choose and what would you change?

Might sound silly but Twilight so I could change the sparkling aspect. That cracks me up every time.

4. Do you have a favorite place to read?

Love to read in my book nook in my room. My hubby put a couch and big bookcase. It’s pretty awesome. I even have a window right next to it so I can look out when a book hits me the right way.

5. Tell us a little bit about why you started book blogging:

Started blogging because I wanted an opportunity to be a normal run of the mill blog. Like the moms who juggle reading, kids and housework. We post what we can and have fun doing it. We don’t know every book release day and all that BUT we make our stuff enjoyable to fans and authors where they can connect. Plus giving new author info to fans is an amazing feeling.

6. What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla Cappuccino OMG!

7. And finally a quick round of pick one:

Coffee or Tea: Sweet Tea

Sweet or Salty: Both like popcorn and chocolate

Chocolate or Vanilla: Chocolate of course

Hot or Cold: Depends but weather wise, COLD

Laptop or PC: I have both  but I prefer a desktop

Paperback or Ebook: Paperback hands down. Love the smell and just the feeling of a book in your hand. Ebooks are great and all but just not the same.

Blogger Interview: Naughty Book Snitch

BookBloggerInterviews

1. What trope do you wish authors would run far, far away from?

I haven’t met a troupe I didn’t like yet. With that being said I do not like to read about foot eaters or sex with food. It grosses me out. It’s ok to read if its mild but it cannot be the focus of the scene or story.

2. The one book you’ll re-read over and over and over:

The Story Guy by Mary Ann Rivers. Its short but such a beautiful story about life and love that will pull at your heartstrings. I highly recommend it.

3.  If you could rewrite one book to change one part of it, which book would you choose and what would you change?

Oh, that’s a tough one. I don’t know that I would change one part in any books that I’ve read. I’ve read some books that I would probably change the entire story, but not just one part. So my final answer would be: I would keep them exactly the way they are because it’s part of the story thumb print.

4. Do you have a favorite place to read?

Anywhere I can find a comfortable spot. I usually end up in the office with my husband.

5. Tell us a little bit about why you started book blogging:

I started blogging because I wanted to know if books that I was interested in reading had sex in them. I like other books too, but I wanted it for the sex. I would try to read some reviews and hardly any would mention sexual content. I love smut so that’s how Naughty Book Snitch got started. 😉

6. What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

My ereader. I carry it with me everywhere 🙂

7. And finally a quick round of pick one:

Coffee or Tea: Coffee. Actually cream and sugar with a splash of coffee.

Sweet or Salty: Sweet

Chocolate or Vanilla: Vanilla

Hot or Cold: Neither. I prefer warm and cool. Or spring and fall.

Laptop or PC: PC

Paperback or Ebook: Ebook

4. Do you have a favorite place to read?

5. Tell us a little bit about why you started book blogging:

I love to read and review books. I also wanted to know if the books I want to read have hot sex, if I review them then maybe others won’t have to wonder.

6. What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

My ereader

7. And finally a quick round of pick one:

Coffee or Tea: Tea if it doesn’t taste like regular tea
